Since I can’t see my other poll I will start a new one.

I’m looking for a new handgun lube. Tetra Gun Grease, TW25B or are they the same?

I don't like grease. I just use 10w30, the same as I use on my Ar's.

I use white lithium grease I bought at the auto parts store.  I would not recommend it for winter and very sandy conditions.  Otherwise, I like it better than oil that drips out and dries up if I leave them in my cars.  "truck gun".  Ya know what I mean?

I only use a little grease on my 1911s, on the frame rails ans slide locking lugs, and a little on my Vaquero cylinder pin and pawl engangement notches. Nothing fancy, just automotive wheel bearing and chassis grease. Works for me!

I use RIG's exclusively.

Was given a free jar when I purchased my first handgun (used) and have used it ever since.

doesn't take much.  I use a dental pick to place a small "glob" of it on the frame rails and barrel lugs.  Also works very well on AR bolt lugs.

I use cheap white lithium grease, Lubriplate, and these really thick green axle grease, depending on what I have at the time and where it's going.

I've never lubed my AR's bolt lugs. I'm not saying it right or anything, but it would seem to attract even more powder fouling, and my locking recesses are filled with enough crap anyway.

Do you have any problem with it turning into a sticky mess?

I've been using Garand grease on all of my handguns with excellent results.

After I run out of grease pots, I'm going to switch to Lubriplate

just about any lube I've used will do this after several 1000 rounds and plenty of time sitting in the safe (uncleaned).  Sweets gets it off no problem and it hasn't caused a malf.  Probably not "correct", but I haven't had a problem yet.

I use a chamber/barrel extension brush during every cleaning so gunk build-up hassn't been a problem.

I tend to lube my BCG pretty heavily.  Hasn't caused a problem...keep in mind that I'm not a soldier in any of the 'stans.

btw, I do ensure that the chamber stays lube free.

Recommended to me by a VERY good gunsmith:

Super Lube

Use it on everything. Like it better than Tetra.

I used Tetra before, but when I got My Wilson I just stuck with Ultima lube gun oil, and maintained regularly. The other day I figured, WTH, try some grease on in. A few days of plain carry later, I decided to field strip and clean (mostly to get at the places sweat may have contacted). The grease had dried/hardened to the consistancy of baked-on hardened frosting. It might have been white coming out of the tube, but it was burnt orange coming off the Q-tip. It was a magnet for lint and grit as well.

I'm done with done with grease... at least for my CCW.

Wilson grease.  The little dispenser makes it easy to get in the slide rails.

I've had good luck with Militec lube and grease.

I've been using THIS stuff on my AR and 1911s for the past few years without a problem. It stays in place and doesn't get all dry and sticky.

I bought 144 of these little cups from CTD, so it'll be a while before I need to look for anything else.
