Taurus Millenium PT-140 opinions? > Handgun Discussions

Does anybody have experience with the Taurus Millenium PT-140 pistol? My wife is thinking about getting one but there have been some mixed reviews that she has found in her research (some of the bad reviews are 5 years old).

I'm looking for thoughs on what's good about 'em, bad about 'em, and any other pertinent info.

Lots more bad reports on them in arfcom than good ones, IIRC?

Much better options out there for the same $$$$, IMO.

they have a pretty bad trigger pull. make sure that you try that out before buying

If yours doesn't work, taurus' lifetime warranty does not mean what you may think...It really means you'll wait a lifetime to get your gun back from their service center

To all those that replied "Don't do it" , what makes you say that? Personal experience? If so, what happened?

Just looking for info at this point.

Also, I'm not sure if it makes a difference but my wife is looking at the Millennium PRO PT-140, not Millennium. I've read that there were changes/differences.

The PROs were reputed to be better, but I have no personal experience with these weapons.

Glock 26, Kahr, XD Compacts, etc. etc.

Even the Bersa's would be my choice over the PT-140. This gun is not one of Taurus' better offerings.........

So many better choices ot there. More gun for not so much more money. Try a Glock26, Glock 19, XD sub compact, Hk P2000, Hk USPc or Kahr PM9. Try to find somewhere that rents guns in your area. A few rounds down range will help.
