Hello all, I have had my eye on a Sig P 232 for some time now and I was curious if it was all that. What do you guys think. Should I trade in my .32 Tomcat towards the
Sig?

I have a Sig 230 and I love it as a light weight gun. I went with the blued version. The stainless is substantially heavier with steel frame. The blued version has aluminum frame.

I sent mine off to Walter Birdsong and had Black-T applied so I could tuck it up against my skin and not worry about it.

I don't think this is a gun I'd go to war with but it is an accurate, reliable, gun that is very easy to carry.

I also love the Kahr P9 and PM9

Well . . .

I've got quite a few "pocket pistols" including the TomCat and Sig 232.

My 232 is a Duo-tone -- stainless slide with a blued frame.  Weight of about 16 oz, I think. Sometimes I carry the Sig as my "Church gun".  When carried as a CCW I use a Fobus holster.

Very nice mid-sized auto.  Been 100% reliable in several hundred rounds.

Been "passed around" several times at the local range and everyone seems to like it.

Just remember the limitations of the 380 round and you'll be fine.

Following arfcom tradition, I suggst getting BOTH!

The P232 is a bit bigger than the Tomcat & there may be times when the smaller gun will be handier to CCL, IMO.

I've had one for several years, and can't say a bad thing about it, other than it's a 380

I carry it when anything else would be hard to conceal.

I had one.  The biggest drawback besides the caliber is the lack of an external slide stop.  If you have a jam, it may be very hard to clear.

For what generally amounts to the same money, get a Kahr.

I have one in the alloy frame.  Love it.  VERY VERY lightweight but still nice to shoot at the range due to the decent grip size.

Mrs Bubba loves hers, too!  She got the SS with tritium sights

I used to have a P232 till I saw a P239 in 9mm. Its barelly any bigger and just a tad heavier but shoots a capable round. The P239 is in my opinion one of the best carry pistols. I've carried both and the perceptible difference is neglegible.

For me the 232 is a pistol that has that quality where it points and gets on target effortlessly.  I think this counts for much and makes up for the supposed shortcomings of the .380 round.  It is a quality pistol, too large for a pocket but perfect for a good holster like a Milt Sparks Watch Six.  The Tomcat is ok, but is oddly thick for its size and did not carry easily for me.
