Went shooting this afternoon with a USP 45 Fullsize. I was shooting Wolf ammo and ran into a failure to eject situation. But my problem seems a little more complicated. I can't get it to extract. The slide won't come back more than 1/4'' or so which isn't even far enough to take the pistol apart. Any suggestions? Oz |

Is there a fired case still in the chamber? If so, it is probably a combination of the laquer build-up from the steel cases and an expanded case...maybe slightly over-pressure, who knows? (It is, after all, Russian QC...or is that an oxymoron?) The technique used is to grasp the slide firmly with your weak hand while holding the pistol over a soft surface (in case you drop it) and "slap" the strong hand...hard...against the gripstrap in a firing position (finger off the trigger, of course) this will usually dislodge the case after one or two trys. If not, don't keep beating yourself and your gun up...get it to a 'smith. Afterward, write 1000 times "I will not use Wolf ammo in my H&K" and buy some American Eagle. |

Everyone says try the wolf ammo to see if it works for you...well it didn't for me but I was brave enough to try it. Thanks for the tips, I will let you know. Oz |

Oz--My USP compact .45 will eat any and all ammo EXCEPT Wolf and AquilaIQ. It did the exact same thing you're describing--jammed a live round halfway into the chamber and stayed there nice and snug. I had to resort to using a rubber mallet to send the slide home (YIKES)--of course keeping the muzzle pointed in a safe direction--and then firing the offending round. It worked for me--though IKOR's advice seems a bit more prudent. |

Simple soultion (I've had it happen to my USP .45). Press in on the back of the extractor to release it from the casing. Pull back slide and lock it. Then use a dowel to knock out the stuck case. Then beat yourself over the head with your fine weapon until you learn not to feed it shit anymore. |
Thanks for all the fine ideas. This was the one that worked. Thanks. Oz |

BTW, I should add that I was joking about the "feed it shit" thing. As stated, I did the same thing. Wolf ammo and HK .45's is not a good combination. The tighter chambers lead to fine accuracy with normal ammo...but major problems with Wolf. I had about 5 stuck cases before I sold off the remaining 700 rounds of Wolf for a steal. |

Take a hot frypan, pour varnish in it, lay a spatula firmly on the bottom of the pan. Then immerse the whole mess in ice-water with the spatula firmly on the bottom of the pan. What duh ya figure might happen? This is what you have done to one of the finnest pistols on the planet. Why do people DO this shit? |
| I was using crappy reloaded wad cutters. This happened to me and this is an excellent rick to get it done. It took me a few minutes at the range but I figured it out. And you know what man, forget what everybody tells you about crap ammo. Use what you want, you know your financial situation and only you can spend your money. I used to treat my Ar like a baby. Now I realized that if I keep doing that im never gonna just have fun with the thing. Now I take the Ar and set it up against a tree in with the stock in the mud when I go camping. You only live once man, f@ck as much things up as you can. By the way, I shoot Wolf out of my Ar all the time. My HK just wont take it. |
| I was shooting my USP 45 with a freind who was shooting his Springfeild 1911 when he said "Go ahead and try the Wolf, its okay". Anyway, I was fortunate. The Wolf jammed my USP on the first round. I had, at that time, more 1k rnds through the USP without a hicup until then. Never again. Wolf is the shit in my AKs, but NOTHING else. |

I used the CCI Blazer Ammo on USP 45 and USP 40 without any problems yesterday. Wow, it does have some Ump to it! Felt great to shoot it. S&B & PMC work great. AE OK. USP 9 - Cheap WALMART Winchester bulk Ammo. PMP, S&B and PMC was good id good too Definately stay off WOLF on USPs Wolf works great of my Para's and Custom Colts. $6.00 a box plus shipping saves me money. But Wolf is no on USP 40 and USP 45 - Not fun to see USP jam like that! |
| I love wolf in my AK. Wouldn't use the stuff in much else. Sellier and Bellot isn't much more expensive and always worked great in my USP tactical. Currently I am using American Eagle ammunition and like it a lot. Doesn't make sense to buy such a fine gun and feed it crap. Treat your USP right and it will probably still be shooting fine the day you die. |
