My sons chipped in and bought me a beautiful stainless Ruger Hunter .22 auto pistol for Christmas. It comes with a rail configured for Weaver rings. Depite the excellent sights on the gun, I'm getting to the age where I need a little extra help seeing things. Which red dot scope do you guys recommend? I've looked at UltraDot and Nikon on the internet - nice, but a little spendy. I'll spend a hundred bucks or so. I hear those cheapy WalMart Simmons or whatever are unreliable. I've had good luck with Bushnell products over the years - I'd be OK with one of theirs. I've got a Eotech 512 on my M1A - that might be overkill for a pistol. What's everybody using? ETA: Sorry, wrong forum - I meant to put this in Handguns - please move. |

I don't think this new Burris is out yet, but I'm going to be getting one for my Ruger .22 pistol. It has a mounting plate available specifically for the Ruger MKII/III receiver that should allow much lower mounting than placing something on top of the Ruger weaver rail.
