Anybody using the XS Express sights on their handguns? I am thinking of picking up a set for my Glock 19. I like the huge shallow "V" for the rear sight, it seems like it would be easier to pick up a quick sight picture. Any preferences for the Big Dot front sight over the standard size dot?

Thanks in advance.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

The Express Sight is a great design for actual combat, fast and easy to pick up.  It does suffer somewhat for accuracy at distances, such as head shots at 25 yards, particularly the Big Dot version.

I found that at short distances I don't really use my sights, and at longer distances I want more precise sights.

The smaller front sight dot worked best for me.
I wear glasses and it really helped speed things up.

They are defiantly a love/hate sight system though.
Try them out on someone else's gun before buying.

I have the Big Dot on my Dan Wesson PT-CBOB

Nice and fast and accurate enough at "combat" distances but a little tougher for super accurate shots. Like the previous poster said, you'll either love 'em or hate 'em...I like them.

I put a set on my Glock 27. Its my carry piece and like stated before, I would not trust it for precision past 15 yards or so. Up close though, they are excellent.

I have them on my XD 9mm subcompact. They work great, but I won't put them on anything but a defensive, concealed carry pistol. I was surprised how accurate I am with them. Groups around 2" at 15 yds. Not bad with a stubby 9mm. I may be shooting it tomorrow. They are very easy to align at night. I have the big dot with the small tritium in the center.

I'm the same way.  Had the big dot, sold em.  Trijicon or Mep for me.  Although the Warren Tactical sights look good.

Big Dots kick ass. Get off of a square range, shoot and move, and they are worth thier weight in gold.

I was popping LaRue's at 50m with my G19 with them as well. They are as precise as you make them.

Cant stand the Big Dot version.  I have a small dot set on the way to try to see if they any better than the big dot. On Glocks there isn't an issue with sight size, but if you have something with a dovetail, be careful before you buy them. The XS sights tend to have a much larger than normal dovetail which will screw you if you dont like them.

I bought a Kimber .45, used, a couple of years ago, that had Ashley Express sights on it.  I took it with me to a match.  At the lunch break, I rounded up a half dozen other guys, and we went down to the range for a little informal test.  We took turns shooting groups on paper, and shooting a timed exercise on steel.  Then we swapped out the top end with one that had "normal" sights, and ran the drills again.

I do remember that there was NOBODY who shot more accurately, and ONE guy who shot faster, and that was only a fraction of a second.  Subjectively, everybody said they preferred the regular sights.

I know this wasn't scientific.  As I said, it was an informal test, just screwing around.  I don't remember the specifics of the test drills.  (Maybe a Dozier?)  I don't remember the names of most of the guys who were there.  They all had "regular" sights, so maybe they were biased against the Express, and more familiar with the regulars.  Maybe a lot of things....

I do know that I tried them for a while, and found that I was consistenly the same speed or slower close up, and less accurate farther out.  I replaced them with Novaks, and sold the Express sights on eBay.

As the saying goes, YMMV.
