I would like to know what WWII era M1911 and M1911A1  pistols are going for these days. Does anyone know of a good source for them?

Thanks

Steve

Try Shotgun news, depending on condition and manufacture the prices may astound you.many in the 2000 dollar range.

They are as much or more than your NIB semi customs. This also will depend on condition and originality.

Typical USGI put together, mixed parts, [a LOT out there] $600 nowadays, dicked with GI, [aftermarket ANYTHING or refinished] $450.00-500, Decent correct frame and slide with a few replaced parts like BBL and such, $700-$800, Worn but correct 1911, proper BBL and such, $900, good shape and all correct $1000-$1200. VG shape, all correct, $1400. Excellent shape, all correct $2000+ EASY. This is for common models, if rarer, certain makes, made in a short run year, Navy marked [1911, not A1] Low number, or one of 100 other things, can go thru the roof.

Beware of fakes, you have to take your time, as many many 1911s out there are fakeroos. Beware of refinishes, NONE were EVER chromed by the military no matter WTH you are told. NONE!!!! Do your homework well, find a good one and it will never go down in value and hefting it in your hand is always worth it.
