Whats the difference, and can a gun that shoots .38 super shoot .38 special?

.38 super is like a 9mm magnum and rimless where a .38 special has a rim and no they are not interchangable
You can shoot .38 specials in a gun chambered for .357 magnum but not the other way around.
Same for .44 special and magnum

To add to confusion, .38Super is semi-rimmed.


Think of it this way,

.38Super is a fast 9mm.

.38Special is a slow 9mm.

They cannot be shot in the same gun though.

The .38 super is also .355 cal and the .38 special is .357
