anyone here know of a current-production semiauto pistol that will fire the 22short cartridge--AND still work the action?

Are you talking as in Match Target or a general use pistol?  If general use, I don't think any one is currently making one, but there are still a lot of the older Beretta Minx's floating around.

I have several Beretta 950 BS in .22 short. They will cycle the action with all rounds, even CB.

Rem .22 short CB - 29gr bullet @ 740 fps.
Win Super-X is a very hot load - also 29gr.

There are conversions available for the Ruger MK-II, but it is not offered in 22 short directly from Ruger.

i'm not gonna use it for match shooting--strictly a trap-line gun.  Ruger conversion kits sound veeeery interesting--will check it out as well as the Berettas.  Thanks guys.

Found a Beretta 950, supposedly only shot 6 times--asking price $225. Good deal?  I ask because there's also another one for $135 but no comments on its condition.

$225 is premium for that gun. - I would not pay that unless it was a pre 68 Made in Italy with the Original box (matching numbers)

Normal going rate is about $125-$155.

BTW - after 68 there were none due to the GCA 68' import BS. Later, once Beretta setup the (Accokeek? MD) plant for the Military M9 contract they produced a few U.S. Made units.

There are conversions available for the Ruger MK-II - I think I saw these in the Brownells Catalog, but I don't have one to confirm that.

(edit) BTW - I have a few Model 21's - they are not the same gun. - The 950's are single action and IMHO have a much better trigger.

I found a conversion kit for the 10-22, but not for the MK II.  ANY information on these conversion kits would be greatly appreciated.  In the meantime, I'll keep hunting....

I think Volquartson made the .22 short conversion.
And this fellow had some at his shop----> WWW.ontargetguns.com   It has e-mail to ask questions too.
