So I picked up a Platypus on accident basically, now looking with what I want to top it off with. SRO? RMR HD? I know the 507 Comp is like half the price but for some reason I just can’t do it. SRO is $499 OTD RMR HD is about $175ish more than that. Have the 1 MOA RMR HD on my HD C3.6, I don’t currently have an SRO. The platypus will mostly be a range toy but I will carry it every once and awhile. |

Best of all, you don't have to remove the dot to change the battery and then re zero the dot. Battery life is long on the SRO. Edit to add: The SRO window is HUGE and easy to index. |

I doubt I'll switch over to Gen 6's. I'm just getting all my Gen 5's squared away  Here's the 47 I'm about done with. Just need to order another EPS.  |

Can you dot experts help a newb on dots please? Have a MP 2.0 with a Holosun 407K. I also have a 43x with O-sight SE that is green. I like the O-sight much better. So, I want to upgrade the 407K. Do I need to buy a CH precision plate? Looking at EPS carry or?? Wanting green, enclosed and larger window. Holosun, Vortex and O-sight are my choices. Help me make a good decision and not have a red dot drawer. Thanks for any links, suggestions or advice. |

I have no problem with MRDS. I have four of my handguns set up with them now. P80 full size with HS507C Vulcan ACSS and an Olight PL3R, GG19 with RMR and Streamlight TLR-7X, G26.3 with RMRcc, and a Hellcat OSP with HS 507K. Having said that, my current carry gun is a Tisas Tank Commander and I'm 100% comfortable carrying 9 loaded rounds of .45 ACP hate, 8 rounds in a back-up mag, and strictly old-school iron sights. As always, YMMV. |

It's really high, but you get used to it and it transitions well to using a revolver with a red dot, because of the height. Otherwise, I agree. Not a good platform for a dot. |

However - at the end of the day it just comes down more information. Irons: Either target in focus and irons fuzzy - or target fuzzy and front sight in focus. Unless the target is super close and super large you're going to be dealing with some degree of trade off between your sights and your target clarity. vs Dot: Both Target and Dot in focus at all distances. More info with less mental energy. The more complicated things get (increasing movement, smaller targets, decision making) - the dot gives you more and more advantage. I know I'm preaching to the choir here ETA: 2 weeks ago I was doing a 10y walk back with a newer shooter on a 8 inch diamond spinner and my 17 YO rolled up on 4 wheeler wanting to join. We Shoot at 10, everyone who hits goes to 20, then 30, etc. Son of a gun went toe to toe with me out to 70y before we both dropped. I was sweating he was gonna beat me.
