Fellas

I picked up a Sig228 which i'm pretty impressed with - I think this one will be in the family for quite a while.

Quick question about the mags -

Came with 2 and I bought a couple 226 mags from Midway for the 15rd capacity.

One of the mags that came with the pistol and the 226 mags are absolutely soaked in a lubricant that seems to be lighter than cosmolene but just a "sticky" - actually pretty nasty stuff.

My first thought was to just wipe them down be done with it but i took a mag apart and the insides have about the same amount of grease inside them.

Would you guys thoroughly degrease the mags and use them "dry" or just wipe them off and leave the inside surfaces as is?  I guess it's not that critical but i just thought i would ask in case i'm overlooking something or there is a good reason to leave a film of this stuff on the mags.

thanks

I would degrease them and leave dry. A lot of oil in a mag can gum it up when stuff starts sticking to it.
