Monday I went down to my LGS in Hudson Florida. This guy has everthing. I looked in the show case and their it was a Springfield 1911 EMP 3" 9mm. I have six 1911's already. I could not pass it up with the free offer of 4 mags, holster and Mag pouch. When this offer comes in I will have seven mags :).

IMHO, "need" doesn't even enter into it unless you budget is limited to the point that other priorities will suffer for the purchase.

(Or unless you are just starting out, which doesn't sound like the case here.)

So, that aside, buy, enjoy, repeat as desired.

That SA mag deal sure is awesome, but those holsters are not really usuable.

Still an awesome deal though.

Nice new piece I wish they would dress the EMP up with some nice G10 grips though.

OP, listen to Aggie and stop trying to rationalize the question, Hahahaha! But in all seriousness, if you have (6) 1911's already then a 1911 variant like an EMP would be very, very cool to have. I took use of the Promotional Offer and got my (4) free mags, a mag holster, and the absolute most worthless "holster" in existence from Springer just yesterday! I am happy! All the mags fit nice, feed, and eject well with CNC machined snap caps. I'll make sure they feed at the range for real this weekend. I put the electronic paperwork in just over a month ago when I finally got my Springer Champ Operator. Springfield said up to (12) weeks is the norm; but I got mine in 30 days with February being a short month. And the EMP is a solid choice especially if you have other 1911 variants. I say go for it!

Buys a new gun.
Then asks if he needs to buy a new gun.
Oh Arfcom, don't you ever change

If that gun runs good, that would be a great carry gun.  Super nice.

The EMP is one of those guns that you'd better be very certain you like the way it's set up.   Most of the parts are proprietary due to the size of the gun.

Looks like you needed it OP.

Yes. You do need that gun.
And even if you feel you don't need it, the benefits there are to others when you buy it kind of makes it your duty to buy it. You keep the nice store open. The employees get a much deserved paycheck. They are able to put food on the table for their children and pay for medical care. Space is cleared on the shelf for more wonderful guns. So stop being selfish and go buy another gun. It's for a good cause.

Need, no, but don't let that stop you.
