Hey guys,
I don't own a Sig (yet). I've seen that Ivanhoe's and CDNN have the "factory certified" (ie used, and refurbed) 220 and 226. I'm a 1911/BHP kinda guy. How good are the "factory certified" pistols? Ivanhoe's lists either at $389 +free shipping. Which do you think would be a better choice the 226 or the 220? Do any tend to be in better shape than the other?  I posted this in the Sig board, but I figgered' they might be ever so slightly biased, so I thought I'd post it in general handguns as well.

Thanks
Rich

I bought a 220ST that I would almost swear was new.

Check out:

James is a great guy to do business with.

Do it.
You can't go wrong.
Sigs are excellent even when used and CDNN is a great outfit.

Personally, I'd go with the P-226. Hicaps are now cheaper, etc. etc.

Or, in arfcom tradition, you can get BOTH?

I would take the 226 ALWAYS. Im not a big 220 guy. I don't like the grips and the only single stack .45 I will have is a 1911. IIRC, the Factory Certified guns are PD/Govt trade in guns or they are warranty returns that have been spec'd, rebuilt, tested and guaranteed by Sig. You really cant go wrong getting a factory certified weapon from Sig. Id rather have one of these than some generic used 226 at the local pawn shop. Supposidly, people have not been thrilled lately with CDNN, so just double check on the return policy and make sure that you will be able to return it if you aren't satisfied. I would have no reservations about buying a certified 226 from them...

there are certain grade levels to SIGs. Grade 1 being the best. Most grade 1's are LEO trade-ins which means 9 never shot. most have night sights. That do come with a warranity as well.

You cannot go wrong with a Sig.  I have a Sig 226 Navy I bought new in Oct. of 2004.  As of 05-17-05 I have 11,200 rounds through it, and not one failure!
I say go for it!

I love my P220. Best .45 I have ever had the pleasure to shoot. Qualified 249/250 on my CHL qual, only the second time I had ever fired it, had just bought it. It's that easy to shoot.

The factory certified used Sigs are in great shape.

I've sold a couple through my shop and I swear the internal compenents had been replaced with new hardware and these were the Grade 2. Most of the wear was on the slide and holster rub.

Worth the money.

can't say enough good things about my p220, and am strongly considering getting a hi-cap 9mm to complement my arsenal when my finances recover from $2.8k worth of chevy repair bills which closely followed my imprudent purchase of a $3.5k television set and home theatre setup.

in other words, there'll be one bouncing around under the seat of my truck soon enough.
