I know that tuarus has had a bad reputation in the past, but  $200 for a new 9mm I just had to buy it..  I am not going to do some big review.  just saying I took it out of the box, I didn't even clean it.  I put 150 rounds through it and zero problems.  feels really good and accurate..  I hate to say, I really like this gun..  trigger takes a few rounds to get use to , but not bad..

Better than a Hi Point I guess...

Hi-point makes a decent gun for the money. C.S. is way better than some big ones.

Not a bad deal at all considering the easy lifetime warranty that Taurus provides.

I just wouldn't rely on it for self defense.

We have two PT111 G2s that have been reliable at my house.  Over 1k on each.

You could do alot worse for 2 bills.

When was the last time you sent something to Taurus for repair?  I've done it a couple of times and "easy" isn't exactly how I'd describe the process.  More like "Useless" or "Tits on a hog" or maybe "Might as well sell it for 10 cents on the dollar".

Of course I haven't done it in the last 7 or 8 years, these days I won't even take a Taurus product as part trade unless it's an older 92.

We sent more Taurus pistols back for repair than all other makes combined at the shop I work at. The G2 is just as bad as the rest of the bunch. Honestly, I think the Hi-Point is more reliable, has a quicker turn around, and better QC than Taurus.

I sent one in about 3 months ago.  Got a free shipping lable and got the gun in back in 6 days.

That said, a lot of people love their Taurus guns, but Taurus is certainly a riskier investment, without a doubt.

Well, maybe they've changed in that regard.  And the good news is the only direction they could go was up.

Still, no matter how good a warranty is, the last place you want to have to use it is on a self defense gun.

It's the same with tools, I know guys who have $20k worth of tools in their garage, but their emergency tool kit in their 4x4 is all Harbor Freight.  That's always seemed pretty damn backwards to me.  I want my best tools in my emergency kit, at home I can always pop another beer, go back inside and order a new one.  Not so much when I'm stuck 50 miles from civilization.

But for me personally, I don't really care who buys what, it's their money. But when asked an opinion I give it, and I'm not shy about sharing my experiences.

Last time I took my pt111 g2 and my shield to the range, the taurus was 100% but the shield had 2 jams.  Used the same ammo in both

The three Taurus G2s I've shot (2x 9mm / 1x 40 cal) have been 100% reliable over hundreds of rounds. People are gonna hate the glock killa G2

I have one.  Nice gun for the money.  Never had a problem with it.

There, fixed that.  Not the most high end thing out there, but I've not have a single problem.  YMMV
