Pluses?
Minuses? My usual range setup is a leather remnant on the bench with my DIY pistol stand. On the bench behind me is my la police medium range bag. This way I can access it during a cold range. At the one pistol march I've been to I saw those pistol boxes, which seemed pretty cool. |

USPSA matches typically require you to holster and unholster at a dedicated "safe area" and not the trunk of your car... I use a soft sided pistol "rug" with handle and name tag, so if necessary my cleared pistol can be removed from a stage if I have progressed to another in a multi stage course for 3 gun
if you travel by air, a tip from Robby Leatham, was to use a metal Craftsman tool box with lock |

How about something like this?

I used an older, solid Craftsman box... I don't travel by air as I did when I was younger and more competitive so it has been repurposed as the house first aid kit... I shoot both USPSA pistol and 3 gun from a stroller... the bags are attached by snap links... older pic, but current is similar... the pistol rug with handle snaps on a link until I get to the safe area http://i825.photobucket.com/albums/zz180/LesSnyder/DSC00465_zps510565b6.jpg As funny as that looks, I can't even knock it because it's so damn clever. lol |
