| Just checking, a buddy has a series 80 Colt mustang (stainless) that has a minor problem with the firing pin safety I'm pretty sure it's just incorrectly assembled but he's tired of messing with it. I'm thinking of making an offer on it and dont know what's fair. The pistol has a fairly low round count through it. Any ideas what it's worth? |

While my Gun Traders Guide list their re-sale value "used" around $300 bucks, due to prevelence of CHL provisions around the US, since it's publication IMO their worth more than that. Suggest ya go here: www.gunsamerica.com and search for that specific pistol and peruse what folks are selling them for..... Mike |
Tough call. Prices range all over the place for these locally when you can find one and are getting downright silly on the auction boards, ranging from $450 upwards of a grand. The fact that the one you are looking at has problems definitely puts it at the lower end of that range. If it turns out to need parts and it’s not just an assembly issue then you could be in for some headaches, as parts are drying up. If it comes with more then one mag that would add to the price as well, since factory mags are running around $30.00 a piece, again when you can find them. That said, I love the gun. I really think it’s the best little pocket pistol out there, and I’ve owned a bunch of little guns.

You can factory mags on e-bay silly cheap for the mustangs all day. The Government mags are the ones that are getting hard to find. |
