I have a Glock 42 manufactured in December 2013, prior to when the internals and magazines were updated. Should I return to Glock for service?
I admit, I have zero rounds through the gun at this point. I'm interested if anyone has had a good experience with the early production Glock 42s. Seems as though there's a bit of noise out there from about a year ago. And I know -- just shoot it and see, but I'm curious as to the views from the hive. Thanks!! |

G42 owner here. I would recommend putting 500 rounds through it at your earliest convenience. If you have ANY STOPPAGES at all, including premature lock back, failure to lock back on empty 100%, FTF. FTE, ect, call Glock and ask for a shipping label so they can fix it. Upon return from Glock, rinse and repeat. Send back every month if necessary. Its 2015, you don't have to settle for poor performance in a combat handgun.
IMHO, more than one stoppage of any kind with factory ammo per 2000 rounds is absolutely UNSAT and should result in as many Glock-funded overnight shipping trips as it takes to persistently attain that level of serviceability or better. |
