Anyone own one? Care to share some pictures?
What's the history behind them?
How do they shoot? Worth getting as a truck gun?

The Star Model "B"'s are decent guns. Colt looking, but the triggers aren't the same. A bunch went to Germany during WWII.

Mine works very well, and they come highly recommended by Jules.

It's the one that says 'Bad Ass Motherfucker' on it"

I highly recommend them for a truck gun.  I shot my Dad's as much as I could afford ammo for when I was in college.

They are great shooters and lots of fun.  Also good for teaching ladies and young people with due to the heavy steel frame and smaller grip.

Nice guns, good triggers, accurate, fun to shoot. Do not dry fire without a snap-cap. They are prone to breaking firing pins if you do. Ask me how I know.

Mine was a bargain at $200, reliable and accurate enough with ball ammo.  It doesn't handle JHPs very well, at least not the ones I've tried (some designs would probably be better than others).

Narrower than a 1911 to the point it will rattle in a 1911 holster, though.  There may be one or two parts that interchange with a 1911, but I forget what they'd be.  +1 on the dry firing caution, that's one thing I've always heard about with these.

Shown here with the similarly designed Ballerina Molester:

I like mine quite a bit.

Trigger is... different from a 1911 trigger, but still excellent.

As mentioned, they are dimensionally slightly smaller than an M1911. There are no interchangeable parts that I'm aware of.

Be aware that Star is defunct and has been for many years. There is no current source of parts for these, and some things are becoming difficult to find.

I love old "Spanish Steel" and have a number of Stars. Including a PD, the first small .45 that ever ran well for me.

I meant that nobody is currently making parts for them. What's listed on that page as being out of stock is very likely to remain that way. Notice, for example, that you cannot get replacement barrels.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequaties of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.

Blessed is he who shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children.

And I will strike down upon the with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brother.

And you shall know my name is the LORD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
