Any information available on these?
I like the look(like a p30hk knockoff), the color, caliber and cost. Thanks |

Is there anything that makes the Canik better than a paid for g19? If you are looking to add the the family arsenal. No. If you are looking to collect. Yes. There is nothing duller than a non-classic gun collection who's only variations are the sights, finishes and serial numbers. A safe filled with different guns is cool. A rack of Glocks? Meh. Every mall cop vault has them lined up. |

I am a fan of the walther p99 and I fondled one of those PT9 at the shot show this year.
Excellent trigger reset like the walther. Outstanding finish and appeared to be high quality. It does not have the mag release on the trigger guard however. They are distributed by Century Arms and I don't think you can beat the price of under $300. I own a few Caniks and they are excellent shooter. Buy one and give us a report. |

Do the stingrays take cz-75 mags? I have the Stingray-C (P-01/P-02 size... Not SP-01), it takes the compact mags, p-01 mags or full size CZ-75b mags (full size obviously leave a gap at the base). The Cannik / Tristar CZ clones are amazing values. If the TP9 took the Walther mags, I'd probably grab one... |

I just received a flyer from SOG International 513-932-8928 They have those TP9 for $295 and in the desert tan if you like. 2-18 round magazines I e-mailed them today and they're OOS. At $330 shipped is this pistol still a screaming deal? And is the trigger really that awful that it could be a deal breaker (compared to a standard Glock 19 trigger)? |

That's nearly double the weight of my Glock 19...I just watched his video too but he seemed to still put rounds on target accurately at distance. For those who own the gun, is the trigger pull that awful? |

That's nearly double the weight of my Glock 19...I just watched his video too but he seemed to still put rounds on target accurately at distance. For those who own the gun, is the trigger pull that awful? My father owned one earlier this year. The trigger has this phantom staging area and once you get past it, it stays there. The pull is heavy and it's odd just like the decocker and DA/SA pull that almost nobody cares for anymore. Also last time I checked CIA was the only place to buy mags, but that might not be the case now. I watched the nutnfancy vid and I'm surprised he didn't mention how bulky it was. It should be a 45acp or 10mm pistol for how wide and tall it is. For the same price I'd rather buy a SDVE from S&W with great ergos and with an overall size of the G19. It's so close, it fits in many of the same holsters made for the G19. I don't find it necessary, but they do make a trigger kit for the SDVE as well as sights since it uses the same dovetails as an M&P. It's basically a Walther P99 clone with a few subtle changes. For the price it could be a decent stash gun or collectable if they ever decide to stop importing it. |

I must have gotten lucky because mine has a really nice trigger. The single action/short pull is consistant and relatively light with a short reset. The long/light pull is also nice on mine. I have 8 glocks with varying degrees of monkeyed with triggers along with several custom 1911 with breaking glass triggers. This trigger takes getting used to but I found it no where near the "worst" trigger I have felt. Just different and I am confident that with practice I would have no problems with it.
On the other hand it is a bit big for what it is and I too would choose an SD9ve if I were only to have one of the two for a carry gun in this price range. I always like picking up something a bit different and I have been very pleased with this pistol after a lot of rounds down the pipe. JMHO |

While I haven't shot one of these, I did play with the trigger while fondling it. IMO it felt just like the Walther. |

I have one in desert tan. It smokes my STI Trojan and all of my Glocks.......NOT.
But its awesome for the price. I got my for $320 shipped. No regrets. Its a nice pistol. Very good quality fit and finish. Shoots straight and so far is extremely reliable. Everyone complains about getting used to the trigger...but don't you have to get used to the trigger on every gun? |
