I would like to improve the stock M&P9 trigger.  The options I am considering are either sending to ATEI for his custom trigger job or installing a APEX trigger.  Does anyone have experience with both and able to recommend which is better?

I'm also open to other recommendations if there are better options than what I have mentioned.  Thanks for your time.

What are you not liking about the stock trigger, I'm on the fence about working on my 9c trigger, but after dry firing it during the loooong Paqiauo / Bradley fight I think I'm going to leave it alone.

The APEX DCAE Kit will do the trick and it is very easy to do yourself if you have a roll of duct tape, a hammer, and a 1/8" roll pin punch.

Unless you're planning on getting slide work done as well, I wouldn't bother sending the weapon to Doug just for trigger mods.  The reason I have an ATEI safety plunger in mine (this smooths the take-up) is because ATEI is 20 minutes from my house and I like to visit those guys.    Both of my M&Ps actually have an Apex hard sear and an ATEI safety plunger so they are lighter and smoother.  In your case, I would just buy an Apex kit that includes a sear and a safety plunger.

I used the Apex DCAEK but only used the spring for the USB from the kit. I used the factory springs for everything else. Then I put in the Apex polymer AEK trigger and spring. It is fantastic!! It's a very smooth 4.5lb trigger now and it truly is a dream to shoot. I had to open up the trigger bar loop about 0.007" because if I were to push down on the back of the slide, it wouldn't fire. After that it's 100% reliable.
