Infinity as in SVI international infinity?

They make some of the finest firearms on the planet and start at about $3500 and over a year wait.

That question really isn't about the Infinity brand of handguns, but more about the adequacy of the magazine capacity of the 1911 in general as a defensive handgun.

You will not get a good answer to that question.

The best answer I could give you is, "It depends."  I know people that run 1911s like a boss.  Quick from the holster and quick on their shot, they carry a couple of spare magazines and can reload very quickly.

For me, I like the fact that my Glock 19 has 16 rounds ready to go.  I have to reload less, and when I do, I can reload quickly as well, and have another 17 rounds ready to go.

Someone will come on here and say, "When are you going to need all those rounds in a defensive situation?"  Shit I don't know.  I just know that I like having more rounds ready to go. More is better to me.

Nothing wrong at all with what or how you posted.  Just saying, it is a more complicated question than you may have realized.

HK45 is the Excalibur of 45acp duty pistols.

If it's too expensive for you, my order of preference for polymer framed 45s is:

FNX
S&W M&P
Beretta PX4 Storm

Glock 20

Fixed it for you.

And yeah, Even though I shoot plenty of Glocks, for whatever reason, I only like them in 9mm.  The HK would be my first choice in for polymer frame.  Sig 227 would be my non-polymer choice.

Out of the FNX, USP, M&P and HK45,  I have owned them all except the HK45, and I prefer the M&P.  10+1 rounds, very shootable, accurate, and not as bulky as the others.  The HK45 comes close to being a more manageable size but costs about twice what the M&P does.
