what other than feel did he like about the ppq m2. what were his thoughts on the fns9? The PPQ is relatively new to the US market, but it has been used extensively in Europe for some time, and by all accounts it has an outstanding track record for reliability. I've heard no negative reports for reliability from US users either. The FN had some issues when it was first released, but they seem to have worked out the kinks now. Mag prices are rather high for both guns, so that's not much of a distinction. What ultimately sold him on the PPQ was the trigger. Seriously, the PPQ's trigger is outstanding. The FN's is just ok. |
| I've got a PPS and an FNX-45, not quite what the OP spec'd but close. Based on my experience with both guns the Walther trigger is better. But I've had no issues with my FNX and despite it being a large frame it fits my medium hand surprisingly well. In 9mm I'd probably go for the Walther. Mags for either will be hard to find and expensive, but I can say the same for my Sig p200 and they've been making that gun for a LONG time. I've also got an HK USP and I see a lot of favorable comparisons in the HK forums on the PPQ mk I, it seems to have a good rep. If the PPQ ever comes in a .45 (and it probably never will) I'd grab one ASAP. |
| My PPQ is my favorite pistol despite my G17 having an RMR and all the trimmings. If I were you, I would try to hunt down, or wait for, an M1 with the proper paddle release, but that's just me. My philosophy on firearms is buy a nice baseline and then tweak it to your liking with grip mods, trigger mods, different sights, lights.... In that regard, my PPQ is the closest to stock of any of my weapons. It simply doesn't need extra parts to be truly great. |
