I love the ergos and weight etc of the m9, I am just not fond of the decocker on the slide.
would the cz shoot and feel similar to the m9? |

| I love CZ but if the Berretta works why change? If you want something new for the sake of newness then yes get a CZ. After the triggers been worked over I feel it's mo better than a Berretta in every way. Have a soft spot for the 92 FS even though I don't own one anymore. |

Beretta wins in trigger, "smoothness" and has a noticeably lower muzzle flip.
CZ has a more comfortable grip and a better safety/decocker location and I would say in general is a little more mechanically accurate. I will say I have yet to shoot a Beretta 92 that didn't have a light, crisp SA trigger and I have yet to shoot a CZ that didn't have a trigger with a mile of creep in SA. |

I have never given a thought to CZs, didnt want a czech gun... then I handled my buddies CZ with nice vz grips, tlr-1, and some sort of trigger work done. I REALLY liked it, and the trigger was as nice as my 1911s
Maybe he will come along and post a pic to make your decision harder OP  its a sexy weapon

I sold a Taurus PT-101 ( a Beretta clone) because it was too damn thick to carry IWB comfortably. My CZ 75 is sweet! Thinner grips, better ergos, all around a better gun! |

There are a few variables that influence muzzle flip. The most important is probably bore axis, followed by center of gravity, and weight. The CZ has a pretty damn low bore axis. The gun was likely designed with this in mind, as the slide rides down inside the frame. The bore axis is much higher on the Beretta, giving recoil more of the leverage that translates to muzzle flip. The center of gravity is pretty much a tossup between the non-railed versions. I'd say the heavy steel rail on the SP01 gives it a bit of an edge on the 92A1. The CZ is a couple ounces heavier, which helps it absorb recoil even better. |

As a service weapon - I 'd stay with M9. Why? IMHO - in terms of reliability M9 is superior to Cz75. However, my opinion could be biased by the sad fact that the overall quality of the CZ's dedicated for East European countries appears to be significantly worse than those dedicated for USA. |

M9 (or M9A1 in my case) for me.
I've had two CZ's, both plagued by extraction issues, tight chambers and poor fit and finish. The Beretta trigger is light-years better than any CZ. I think the only thing CZ has on Beretta is ergonomics---and I'm one of the few people who's hand fits the Beretta well. |

I'll take the CZ everytime.
I grew up on 1911's and love em. Got a BHP and love it... Introduced to the CZ75 pattern and it rapidly became a favorite. The Beretta, somehow even with the open top slide, I can get to stovepipe about once per mag... Only auto pistol I have that problem with. It baffles me.

I find the CZ ergonomics less than ideal, personally. I think a lot of people say "it has good ergonomics" when what they really mean is "it feels good in my hand." For me, the trigger and safety are too far forward for easy reach when the gun is in a proper firing grip. The sights are tiny on anything but the competition models.
The 92FS feels larger in the hand but I don't have any problems hitting the controls. |

I prolly could, but, again, the CZ 75 isn't the easiest to suppress as it requires a barrel extension which isn't cheap to do nor convenient for servicing the pistol. I've also spent some time tracking down as many Brigadiers as I have.... |

| I'll agree that the safety is too far a reach for my hands. But then again a 1911 and a BHP seem to be the only safeties I can actuate without changing my grip. But WAIT! The CZ is a DA/SA! Carry it on half-cock and the trigger pull is much more reasonable, and after that first shot it's a nice, short SA. |

CZUB is now offering reduced reach triggers and Cajun Gun Works offer this trigger in the link below which reduces the reach by 5mm http://www.cajungunworks.com/miscellaneous_items.html You can also replace the normal safeties with the SA or Shadow safeties for a shorter reach there also. |
