I'm looking at older weapons like Browning High Power and S&W 5906.  Can they handle +p ammo?  How about newer firearms?  Thanks.

In the owners manuals for my last three handguns they say it's fine for home defense  but don't use it on the range for practice as to the + status will wear out your firearm faster.

ETA: as for the older ones at ones own risk is what I would say.

If you get a MK3 Hi Power it will handle +p easily.  If you get a MK2 or MK1 it will not handle them well, plus the feed ramp on a MK1 or MK2 might not feed hollow points reliably.  Get a MK3 Hi Power and you will be GTG, granted they are not as pretty as MK1 and MK2

A MKII will feed any hollow points just fine, but the MKI will not. You are correct about the older Hi-Powers not liking +P. The newer models are a bit more robust.
