Has anyone ever had this happen: After shooting a magazine empty, it will not simply fall from the mag well after I press the release button. It is almost as if the slide is jamming the magazine in place, preventing it from falling out. The magazines will freely drop out when I lock the slide open myself, or when the slide is shut. This is happening on my high-cap Makarov, and I'm just wondering whats going on. It functions fine otherwise, and I can't think of what the problem is...Could it be something really menial related to the mags, or something else? |

The mag follower is getting caught on the internal slide catch mechanism somehow. You've proven this by being able to drop a mag with the slide closed. See if you can see where it's rubbing & cathing, should be some light markings on the follower and/or slide interior. Good luck. |
