| Well I'm looking at buying a new handgun while I still can. I have been a 1911 guy for years so I'm out of the loop on these newfangled plastic things. Probably will go .40 with a 4.25 bbl. No ultra compacts or anything. This won't serve as a concealed carry weapon. I already have that covered. I would like to spend around $600 give or take. I'm thinking M&P or XD, but maybe a Glock as well. Anything I should know about any of them going in? Thought and opinions will be appreciated. |
Go with Glock my son and prosper
Damn near unbreakable and always works. Don't listen to ass hats like Yeager who said not long ago that .40 cal guns will not survive 50K rounds because the pressure is too high. I got just over 69K through mine with all the origional internals. |

If you're out of the loop on "newfangled plastic things." Do yourself a favor and get a Glock 19. Glock 19 is awesome, but it's 9mm. He specified .40 so he'd need a G23. Either are good choices The new M&Ps are nice. Real smooth trigger too. Similar to the glocks (no external safeties, no hammers) |

Glock 22 4th gen
I love mine, its the perfect size platform for me for everything except concealed carry. Very efficient for 15 plus 1 rounds of .40. Best grip yet in a glock and you can taylor the backstraps for a perfect grip. IMO glock mags are the most reliable/best pistol mags made. Have 1000 trouble free rounds through mine so far. Just put some decent sights on it. |
