This may sound a little odd to some of you but I'm almost as big a tech junkie as I am a gun junkie (key word being almost). I've looked for apps that can be incorporated into some kind of training with my cell phone. I'd always see these things about gun this and gun that. I just so happened to be looking again yesterday and came across this Pocket Gunslinger app. I figured it was going to be some goofy thing where you act like a old west gunslinger and just act like you were drawing your revolver. I couldn't have been more wrong! It had some reviews stating that it was a good training device, luckily there is a video to preview, and it actually is a firearms drill app. I've been looking for something like this. I have an android phone so I don't know if Iphones have anything like this, or if it's on apple, but I have to give it my seal of approval. I was able to get out this morning and give it a go. You have to wear earbuds under your hearing protection and basically it calls out targets for you to fire at. It a little difficult at first, but then it got easier with the practice. Which is why I think it is a good training device. The download was free, and it comes with a basic drill pack that was 3 drills. I think you can purchase  additional "drill packs" as an option. Anyway I thought it was pretty neat, and I figured I'd let you guys know about it. I'm interested to hear what you guy think of it if you already have it.

It is pretty sweet. I'm actually going to download one of the drill packs and try it out again tomorrow. They are priced at $4.99, so I'll take one for the team and let you guys know if it's worth it.

Downloaded. Looks interesting, though the "drill packs" look overpriced. Will update if I change my mind about that.

It's official, I am hooked on this damn app. I downloaded the ABC's pack yesterday and tried it out this morning. It was GREAT! This app is great especially when you are by yourself. It's always fun having your buddy call out specific shots for you to aim for, and this thing does just that. If you like to train reloads and target acquisition you'll really enjoy it. It just changes things up and make it more enjoyable to shoot. As for the Drill Pack price of $4.99, I'm not feeling like I didn't get my money's worth, but I agree that it could be a little cheaper. I typically don't spend over $3-$4 on an app. Don't get me wrong I'm not a tight ass, but it has to be pretty good and keep me entertained to justify the money. I did notice that they have a website. It does say it will be coming to apple soon. It also says that it will have shotgun drills and rifle drills coming soon as well. It's nice to see that not everyone has jumped on the anti-gun wagon and an app like this is available. But then again maybe that's why it says it hasn't had a ton of downloads. I figure either it's new or people don't want anything to do with guns. I hope its the new thing. Anyway that's all I have to say about this app. If anyone downloads it and gets any of the other Packs let me know. I'll probably buy again after I've worn out these 2 that I have.
