General comments? I am considering getting one of these, is it a bad idea or are they decent? Any opinions from someone who owns one would be appreciatted as well.

Are they the same company as RIA?

I don't think so although I believe that they are made in the philipines.

I have read somewhere that they are the same as RIA, don't remember where though.

They are the importers of RIA, but don't know for sure if they are made in the same factory.

They gave me the same Novaks mag and black case w/ my RIA though!

ETA: I'd imagine they are on the same level if not better then RIA,  I am severely pleased w/ my Ria and wouldn't hesitate to reccomend one to anybody!  Hope this helps.

Armscor of the Philippines is the manufacturer of the Charles Daly and RIA pistols.  General consensus appears to be that the ones with the fewest frills run best.  They're not the best 1911s out there, but are a great bang-for-the-buck compromise for those on a budget.  I want to get one anyway.

Based on what I have seen, if you truely want to own a POS, buy an Armscor.
