I have had mt M&P 40 for about 2 years and from day one of shooting the slide started changing color. I will post a pic. It is not rust or anything like some of the earlier run M&P hadnguns had. The bluing faded out into a differen shade. Everytime I shot it and then cleaned it, it wore more and more. Kind of speckled. 
You can see some speckling toward the bottom of the rail. It was initially the darker color and then faded. There is some by the muzzle as well. It kind of looks like an oil slick. Any thougts on this? Gun was manufactured Auf of 2009. |
