I took my LC9 to the range for the first time today. I shot decent with it at 25 yards, my groups were definitely larger when compared to my G19, but very acceptable given the distance. The long trigger pull and reset didn't bother me like it does some people, I'm used to my S&W340PD so it wasn't much longer than that.

I shot 257 rounds total. 200 rounds of WWB, 20 rounds of Federal Hydroshoks, 20 rounds of Speer Golddots and 17 rounds of FMJ reloads.

I had 12 FTEs and had some with each ammo type except the reloads.

11 of the FTEs happened when I was shooting one handed trying to see how the gun handled a weaker grip with one hand. I was getting 1 FTE per mag and could almost cause an FTE at will.

The one other FTE happened shooting normal two handed.

My question is, are these FTEs just part of the break in and eventually stop happening or is this gun susceptible to failures shooting one handed or limp wristing?

I am going to give it a good cleaning and put a couple hundred more rounds through it to see if it stops having FTEs. I really like the size and rounds this thing holds, so I want to give it every chance to make it to my CCW piece, but it has to be 100% reliable to do that.

Anyone else have a similar experiences?

Mine has been rock solid.  Never had extraction problems.  I have been shooting Federal and Wolf 115 FMJ.

I would clean the chamber with a brush well.  Then polish it with Flitz.

If you don't hang on to a lightweight gun, you can have FTEs, you bet. I like the small single stack 9mms, but they tend to recoil like a .357 and FTE can happen with a less than ideal grip. I'd give it a few more trips to the range to get used to shooting it more and let it wear in a bit and then if it persists, go from there.

I did with mine, the day I bought it I cleaned the bore out and took it to the range,I had FTF's and FTE's galore,It was so gunked up with cosmo or whatever they use that it was locking up left and right. After a good cleaning it's been 100%.Neat little gun,the more I shoot it,the more I like it.

I disassembled it and cleaned all the grease off before I took it to the range. Im hoping another cleaning and a few more rounds will cure the problem. I really want this gun to work out.

I'm also going to shoot my buddy's LC9 to see if it does the same thing. If it does, it may be that this gun just won't function with a weak grip, in which case I'll be sticking with my 340PD.

My LC9 feeds everything, 100%
very easy to shoot, and surprisingly easy to HIT with.
Packs easy,and shoots straight.
nice little 9mm, and silly cheap too.
