| Just got one, anything I need to know? I got a great deal on it on AuctionArms.com. I compared it to the 30 SF and I cannot tell a difference, so I went with the 30 at a great price. This is my first Glock, what do I need to know, other than it might be a hand grenade in a pistol disguise? |
| I've got a 30SF that had a hiccup when I first got it. The raised ridge of the case where the bullet seats got stuck on something or a part of the slide got stuck on something when chambering. It happened on the 3rd of 4th round of the second mag that I loaded into it and hasn't happened since (1,000 or so rounds though it since then). I mentioned something about it on glocktalk.com or glock.pro and everyone freaked out trying to give me a million different things to look at to try and fix it. I let them know that I wasn't looking for a fix because I didn't think anything was broken but they kept on talking about how they never hear of any malfunctions and mine must have a factory defect or some shit, lol. All in all, I am more than satisfied with my G30SF. It fits my hand really well, shoots great, is fun to shoot, if you can find the right deal (I remember when it was $27.97/100 WWB) it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to shoot and it's a .45. Now, all that being said, my G26 Gen 4 and G27 Gen 4 never had a hiccup. A few hundred rounds through the 26 and about 1,000 through the 27. You can take that for what it's worth. If I were limited to one handgun that I have now (I only have those 3) I would pick the 30 out of all of them. If I were limited to one handgun and could choose any gun whether I have it now or not, It probably wouldn't be the G30, but it would definitely be on the short list. |

It's one of the BEST guns Glock makes, and one of the BEST .45ACP handguns extant.
The only thing that I can think of that could possibly be considered a negative about the G30 is that it's about the tightest-sprung magazine I know of. If you can get 10 rounds in there on the first try, you're a better man than most. |
