My local fun store has a used stainless 4" 686-2 with glossy wood grip with finger grooves for $589.  It is in good shape with some marks/rough spots on top of the barrel an inch below the front sight.  Looks like it was carried a lot or was a truck gun.  Doesn't bother me cause thats what I will do with it, but I wanted to know if this was a desirable one and if it was a good price.  I was thinking about trading my XDM tactical satinless/green .40 handgun for it.  Is it worth the trade?

EDIT: Forgot to say that this is a .357

Thanks!

That is a lot for a gun that looks used.  I would expect it to be between $400 and $500, and only 5 if it came with the box and paperwork.

Yep, $450 in that shape. The 686 is a fine gun, although this one is an older revision.

I love my 686P which is the 7 round version. I paid $600 new, but I had been looking
for a while and it was the only one I had found in months. Worth every penny.

I was kinda thinking it was high as well, but wasn't sure.  Think I will pass on it.  After reading through searched threads it looks like the -4 is the one to have.  I will keep my eyes open for one.

Thanks guys!

My very first gun. Always regret trading it. Seems priced too high.
