$399 for this SIg P239 9mm Police Trade in. Came with a case, 2 magazines, and manual.
Was kind of an impulse buy...Went to the gun store to buy my brother a b-day present (TLR-1) and maybe something for myself. Was thinking of getting a brand new Glock or Smith and Wesson M&P but my friend told me the shop had some police trade in Sig Sauers recently. I always liked the way Sigs felt in my hand and we felt the deal was too good to pass up, plus I can always buy a new glock or M&P if I want.

thinking of using this as my CCW, any thoughts? I think im gonna throw some Hogue grips and Night sights on it of some kind.

I think it will make an excellent CCW piece, especially with summer coming up.

You did damn well for yourself I'd say. I wish I could find a 239 around here for that price. I have wanted one ever since pistol qualifications.

That's a great buy! I added the Hogue finger groove grips to mine because I don't care for the flat front strap. I usualy don't like rubber grips, but they are great on the 239. The 239 is a great CCW weapon and is just the right size, IMO. It's small enough to conceal well, but big enough to get a full grip and handle recoil like a full size.

I purchased mine NIB with a born on date of 11/2010. I broke it in a couple of weeks ago with a 500 round session. 300 Fed AE 115gr, 100 WWB 115gr, 50 Gold Dot 124gr+P and 50 Win Ranger 127gr+P+. It functioned perfectly and is more accurate than I am. My wifes newer P239 SAS 9mm has been 100% with 1,500 rounds through it.

My only regret is that I didn't buy one years ago.

It's hard to believe that many police use these except for backup duty, and I'm not really a fan of most SIGS, because I am a lefty, but for that price, I would have gotten one for sure.
Does anyone know if there were a significant number of 239 police turn-ins recently, and where they would be available?  Just curious, where this dealer, would have gotten it, to be able to offer it, at what I believe to be a very good price, if it's in nice condition.

I love my 239, its in .40 S&W but I cannot say enough about the hogue wraparound grips.  It really made the grip for this gun go from "OK" to "EXCELLENT!" for me.  I'm also looking to put some night sights on mine, been eyeing the tru glo TFO's

You did damn good man! Awesome cc gun. It's what I carry. With a hogue its even better
Out of all my pistols my gf prefers my 239 also because the feel and the frame absorbs the impact better then the poly guns

Why is it hard to believe? Tons of agencies issue the P239. Mainly to Officers with smaller hands and or Detectives. It's also issued to the Air Marshals and US Secret Service, along with their P229's in .357 Sig. The SEALs are also issued 9mm P239's and P226's.

I think you are probably right....The gun store was in Dallas and DPD issues P226s i believe...my guess is officers are allowed to carry P239s as back-ups.
