Did any of you 45c owners get a gun that shot 8 inches low at 25 yards out of the box?

I bought mine barely used for $465.  I think I know why the previous owner traded it in.

Are you getting those results from a bench?

Yes.  I don't have a ransom rest or anything of that sort, just resting my hands and the gun on a wood table.  Ammunition was Blazer Brass 45 ACP, 230gr ball.

Is the grouping tight? Meaning are you getting reasonable sized groups at 25 yards that are just lower than they should be?

What sights are on the weapon? Factory?

Yes.  Groups are good.  Factory white dot sights.

Time to contact S&W

Then it might be a barrel issue. My suggestion would be to call up S&W and talk to their techs. The M&P unlocks really fast when firing...and on some specimens due to too much slop in the tolerances of the pistol the weapon can actually start to unlock before the bullet is entirely out of the barrel. A replacement barrel has been known to fix that.

I had a 3913 years ago that shot very low as well. I sent it back to S&W and they installed a new barrel and all was well.

Dammit.  I was hoping to avoid something like this

Yet another pistol that won't work.  I don't think I've owned a single one, yet, that wasn't fucked up somehow

S&W is sending a box and shipping out.  Now I will have to try like hell to find a time I can actually get the damned thing mailed.

That's what I hate about this.  I work in a small town that doesn't have a fedex store

I had a small issue with my M&P15x and S&W's customer service was great. I can not say enough good things about how they handled me and the situation, you should be pleased.

S&W has been good so far.  When I told the guy what was wrong, he immediately said he'd send me a shipping label.  That's not the problem.  It's getting it shipped out, and especially shipped back, that is the problem.  I am not home during the day.  And I probably can't arrange to be either.  Ergo, I ain't there to sign for it when it returns.
