I picked up an LCP this weekend at the Dallas Market Hall gun show and got out to the range today to wring it out. I ran 150 rounds through it (100 WWB, 50 Remington) all FMJ. The Winchester bullet is a flat nose design and I found that when chambering a round, it was necessary to give the slide a good sharp rack otherwise the cartridge hung up on the feedramp. A quick bump to the rear of the slide sent the round into battery. Other than that, the gun performed flawlessly and cycled and ejected all 150 rounds. The sights are non existent, but at the range the gun is intended for were adequate. I shot at 3 and 5 yds, primarily at the 3 yard line. The trigger pull is long, but after a couple of magazines I got used to it and was able to shoot some good groups. I picked up a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster for it and have to say I'm very happy with the gun and holster. I would definitely recommend one to anybody in the market for this type of pistol

Trav1921 giving it a go.

Looks like you guys had a good time. Sorry I couldn't make it

I'm impressed with your grouping with the LCP, it's not the easiest gun in the world to shoot, but it will get the job done. I love mine, it's so easy to carry.

thanks for sharing the pics!

Mine hangs up like that too.... I need to get out to the range and verify that it actually feeds the DPX i have for it reliably

I suspect it would feed the DPX fine, but I'd shoot it just too make sure.

NIce shooting guys...

Love mine for deep concealment.

And I have to say that Ruger's CS was excellent on the recall as mine was a pre-recall S/N. Picked up just before Christmas and returned a day or two after Christmas. I think it was 5 day turn around and over the holiday....

Nice shooting Tex! I have had mine for a couple of months and have carried every day. It is a great little BUG. I love the way it just disappears in the pocket.....!

I know you got used to it but is the long trigger pull bothersome?  I am used to my duty glock with a relatively short trigger pull and don't normally like long pulls.

Great shooting!  I want one of those bad.  What part of Texas is this in?  Seems like a sweet range!

Pick up a heavier Wolff recoil spring, it'll help with feeding and keep the brass from flying 50' away.  I think the factory spring is 9lbs and I increased mine to 13lbs.  I've not had any problems feeding FMJ or HP's in mine, haven't shot FP's but HP's typically give most guns issues, especially when new.

I had mine in my pocket during a recent M9 qual range- and shot a 29/30 with it on the timed pop-up targets.  Much better than most folks would expect from a BUG...

For what I bought the gun for - to just drop in a pocket and go- I like the longer trigger pull. My other carry gun is an XD9 SC so there is quite a bit of difference between the two. I don't think the trigger pull on the LCP is something I'll ever really like but with a little practice I now feel confident I could make good hits at the range the gun was intended for.

That's Garland Public Shooting Range in lovely Garland, TX. It's on the east side of the DFW Metroplex.
