Should I get a G26 or a M&P 9mm compact?
I'm goin skiing in the mountains....gonna need something to fit in my pocket! I cc a G19, but I also have a full size M&P 9 that enjoy as well. Who has both? Secondly, how are the two in terms of size? I believe the M&P compact is only slightly larger than the G26, yes? |

Hope it's a big pocket. I have never had an M&Pc in hand but they seem about the same size in this video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ts7HzqLDI9E Try watching that, might give you some ideas. I say get the glock because it will probably save you a little cash, but that's just my predilection, both guns will probably work and work well. |

Its not the size of the pockets, its the weight of the gun+ammo that would be my concern. Especially if you are active. No fun when a loaded gun has enough room to bounce around in your pocket smacking you each time. If I were you, I would just carry IWB/OWB, strong side. Plenty of clothes to keep concealment from being an issue. |

Neither is a great pocket pistol, but if I were to throw one into a ski jacket I'd get the M&P with a safety. Just me though. This is a good point. For pocket carry, no holster, I'd like to have an external safety. In terms of reliability, I don't favor one gun over the other, as they both seem to have near perfect track records. Get the gun that you feel is more comfortable, and if an external safety is a big deal to you, go with the M&P. |

Thanks, appreciate it. Although I know exactly how you'd vote. |

Ill give the G26 a slight edge since you were taking it skiiing. Just cuz i think the tennifer finish on the G26 will hold up better to moisture. You realize that the melonite of the M&P=the tennifer of the Glock, right? It's the same stuff. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

But that's for every pistol......moot point. No magazine = the same pressure on the slide release as the full magazine that you'd use the slide release on. Sorry, that perturbed me. As for the poll, I like the M&P for ergo. And I like the included Novak sights. |
