I looked at one today, it was very nice!  I almost impulsively picked it up, even at $1,300, but decided to sleep on it a day or two, and solicit everyones advice on them.  I want to hear the good and the bad, as well as other comparable 1911 recommendations.  Thanks all

So far I've read that most here prefer a Kimber to the SA.  I guess I'll hold off for a bit.  What is Kimber's equivalent to the SA tactical operator model, with the same bottom rail extending all the way to the front?

I have the Springfield MC Operator.  I've taken it to two 3-gun matches now, the range a number of times and love it. The rail on the MC doesn't extend to the end.   I got it new for under $1,000.00.  They have given some to the Marines for  testing.

I don't think Kimber makes a 1911 with a rail that goes all the way to the front. Thier railed model is the TLE RL2.

Here's what I have, and I couldn't be happier...

Brewsky -- That's it, very nice!  Very similar to the one I was looking at, except the grips were black.

I see Strayer-Voigt makes some with the rail going all the way to the end as well.  Are they a good balance of reliability and accuracy?
