Just as a matter of curiosity, does anyone use a Hi Power as their gun of choice for competition shooting?

I have used one for IDPA a few times.

They have been used with success. There was a really nice copetition HP sold on EE a couple of months ago.

I was using my FM HP in
the local 3 gun matches,
but I switched over to my
SR9, at the last one. I  will
take my HP in the future,
as a back up.

I love my HP & I am going
to be reunited with my
BDA, soon.

I have shot a couple different Hi Powers in USPSA before, but with the way divisions are split up, there is no division in which the 9mm Hi Power is well suited.  Since it's single action, it can only be shot in Limited, L10, or Open.  I don't think it would last too long running major 9mm in Open, and it's scored minor in L10 and Limited so unless you always shoot Alphas you're going to be giving up points.

A .40s&w would work well for major in L10, but doesn't have the capacity for Limited.

Thanks everyone for your feedback.  I tend to agree with BPR, as a 9mm with moderate magazine capacity it doesnt really seem to fit any of the competition criteria - other than Service Pistol - which is a shame as I really enjoy shooting mine
