Anybody think about what would constitute a spare parts kit for a Buckmark?
I looked on Numrich and there's a schematic so it's pretty obvious but there's a choice of firing pins - how do I determine which one I need? They list a "New Style". Mine is pretty new - in the 515MX serial range.

I remember this coming up in a Rimfire Pistols Forum thread quite a while back, I couldn't seem to find it. You might try reposting there. Not much traffic in the Browning forum near as I can tell.

If you really wanted spare parts for it, I would say having an extra one of those little plastic buffers might be a good idea. Other than that, I can't say.

That is one of the two parts I have replaced in any of my Buckmarks. Second was a rear sight because one of the pins broke. Brownells has a clickable schematic and you can buy almost any part for it. At a certain year, they changed some of the parts, so you will need to know when yours was made. You can go to browning and learn when it was made from the SN.

thanks for the info cajun boy
and mrheehee thanks for the reminder, I've considered spare parts for mine for a while... I think I will pick up at least the buffer when I've got an order for several things together.

Yeah, get a couple of spare buffers, and you should also consider items 38-41 in that schematic (the recoil spring, rod and retaining clip). Those can wear out and cease holding the snap ring on the end.

I forget the recommended replacement interval on all of this stuff, but the buffer and the spring and it's guide, etc., are supposed to be replaced now and then.
