Got my Mk III back from Novak's yesterday.  It was NIB when I sent it them a number of years ago for their Special Ops package, and due to work abroad and other factors I hadn't shot it much.  But, the trigger was atrocious, and the trigger pin constantly walked out to the right side.  Finally got around to sending it back to them to have the trigger pin issue addressed.  I also asked they replace the original tritium front sight with a gold bead, and swap out the OEM ambidextrous thumb safety for one of their in-house strong side only thumb safeties.  They turned it around in under three weeks, trigger pin hole has been peened, the trigger feels better/cleaner, and the new thumb safety is a heads and shoulders improvement.  It had been wearing some Navidrex micarta grips, but I swapped on a set of cocobolo grips from Craig Spegel.

Just picked this up from the EE. I have original Pachmayr grips for it. 2001 Silver Chrome with fixed sights. According to Browning, very very low production.

That is beautiful!!!

Is it me or do those grips taper to a thinner dimension towards the top?  My normal, factory wood ones don't do that.  There the same thickness all the way up.

The grip is tapered. This gun has a lot of custom touches. Hand stippled front & back strap, top of slide is hand matted, back of slide is serrated to match the rear sight, flush & crowned barrel, and new or modified internals. It’s a true work of art and shoots as good as it looks.

1982 BHP I just picked up. Looks to have an improved sear lever installed, which is weird considering it was just imported. I thought that was a US consumer market thing. Also mag disconnect is already disabled. Attachment Attached File

One is a 1974 gun with Hogue grips and a trigger job from Don at The Action Works using all stock parts and all new springs.  I got it about 6 months ago. The other is a 1985 gun I just got off GB and picked up today.  Confirmed with Cylinder and Slide it was their work.  Very nice pistol and can’t wait to shoot it.
I stalked GB and waited on both and like to think I got a good deal on each.  Oh the lies we tell ourselves!

The HP platform is the most natural pointing handgun I've used and I am pleased that Tisas saw a market for an updated stainless model. Maybe this will prompt a resurgence of the HP? Unlikely :-)

Probably my favorite Hi Power of all time.

I should have bought a few of the Inglis Hindu Hi Powers from Gander when they were under $300.  They were really rough so I passed.

Inglis Hindu Hi Powers?

I assume these were Canadian made and wound up in India/Pakistan and were imported back here?  Import marked?

Place holder....I will post my Hi Powers shortly.

Don't ban me plz. Belgium HP with standard Novak upgrades, and $30 grips from Recover that are waaaay better than they have any right to be for the price. So far so good, only 60 rounds, no hiccups yet though.

Edit: even better in black.

CDNN had a sale on them a while back.  I bought 4 of them.  I think they are Mec-Gar pads.  Many moons ago.

Wow!!!  Beautiful collection.

Did you have all of the custom work done to them or did you buy them that way?

Which one is your favorite?  And why?  How about a close up picture of it?

Stripped off the crappy black paint and fit a C&S safety. Otherwise, it’s a box stock Israeli surplus gun.

I have a FN High Power in .40 cal.  Any ideal of a rough cost estimate to have all the same work, as done on the OP’s High Power, plus converting it into a 9mm?

I’m basically done buying guns and simply want to “pretty up” a few of my more classic revolvers and pistols.

I’m lucky enough to have two used 1976 made Browning High Powers that will simply be professionally reblued back to factory standards.
