A local gun shop has a good price on new FN .40 and I would like to get one.  I know the Browning is made by FN, but I was wondering if I am giving up something especially if I plan to send the FN to a top 'smith for customizing (Novak, Sokol, C&S)?

Is the FN a good base gun or is does the Browning have something extra that I should wait and find a .40 BHP?

Thanks,

From what I understand, the FNs are just as good as the Brownings.  Either is a great base gun.

Now.....go get one.

The real differences are cosmetic only.  IMHO Brownings have a nicer finish.  YMMV.

Thanks for the feedback...He has a new .40 FN for $425, which I feel is reasonable for the quality of gun

They're about the same.  Get it and never look back!
