Just purchased a FN Hi-Power Israeli Police trade-in. It's a 1989. I bought it because it appeared to be in very good condition with no scratches into the metal and both factory sights are dove-tailed in for easy removal and replacement. Lack of scratches and dove-tailed sights were two reasons for buying it because I want to upgrade the sights and trigger and resurface it. I shot a few rounds (Winchester white box, 115 gr FMJ) through it just to see how it shoots. Started at 30 feet and the impact was 2 inches left and 8 inches low. As I moved closer the impact moved closer to center and ultimately at 6 feet the impact was still 1 inch left and 2 inches low. I'm not the best shot but have shot dozens of pistols so I know something in addition to me is wrong. Could this just merely be the sights? The barrel? Just want to make sure before I spend the money on new sights (probably Novak and fiberoptic), trigger and surface work. Appreciate the insight. P.S. I'll have a friend verify the point of impact so no need to critique this old man.LOL!

Cylinder and slide is the company to contact. Look them up.

Do you think that new sights will remedy this?

If you are a right handed shooter, shooting low and left can be the result of jerking the trigger.

If you do have work done on the gun I'd add that Wayne Novak and Jim Garthwaite are two more shops to consider.

Start closer, like 6-8 ft and then slowly move back.dont move till you are keeping all your shots where you aim.
