Hi guys im a nwbie to this board. been reading alot before i joined, good info here! Anyway i own a winchester 1300 shotgun, and a hp35 browning. I think im about to own 1 more though. A guy i know bought an all chrome hp35 last year and did some work on it.., changed out the hammer and sear and replaced it with c&s's. also removed the gold trigger and replaced it with a black skeletonized hammer, along with the thumb safties, grips in black too. it also has a trigger job, mag release job and tridium night sights. the gun looks nice BUT the price doesnt! he sells me the gun, all the magazines, the storage box. the original parts for $1050.00 does that sound about right?? |

What you do to a firearm to personalize it is a matter of choice and you should not expect to be able to recoup the costs. IMHO he's asking way to much for what's been done. I personally would pass or make a counter offer. I think $750.00 - $800.00 would be more in the ball park. But again it's what he thinks it's worth and what it's worth to you to have it. Have you even had a chance to test fire it to see how well it shoots????? If you want it then make an offer or wait on it. there are plenty around to choose from. One other thing you can do is agree to match or better his best price offered (w/proof of course) from a potential buyer. . . if still to high you can pass and he can sell it to the other buyer. Good Luck RC |

Thats what I was thinking! Way too much! He said he has about $1400 invested in it. Anyway he said that's his baby and that he'll sell it to me only because he knows it'll be in good hands with me. I havnt shot it to try it out or anything. but he said he will throw in a new galco black holster for that price too (originally for a 1911.) Is this gun rare because its all chrome? Anyway should I just get a Practical two tone Browning instead? |

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY too much money for that, IMO. Any experienced buyer/seller can tell you that one rarely gets back half of the value for aftermarket add-on parts. Personally, based on your description of the gun, I would rather spend $500 or so on a used High Power & then do what *I* wanted to do to the gun, if anything! My .o2 |
