I know little about BHPs, but ran across one from an estate. The owner also doesn't know much about it. I was able to recognize it as a BHP and learn it was a 1969 Belgium model 69C21xxx with one magazine and no box. It had been in a holster, so there is some light blueing discoloration, but overall probably in NRA VG condition if the staining buffs out with a soft cloth.
Is it a shooter or a safe queen? Do I want it? If so, how much should I offer? If nothing else, I'll clean & lube for him and see how the finish looks. And I'll make sure it doesn't spend the rest of its life in a leather holster. Edit: That 64 year old blued steel cleaned up beautifully! It's probably "excellent" after a judicious wipe-down. It doesn't look like it's been fired much at all. Edit edit: 44 years. I made it through calculus, physics, chem, o-chem, biochem, and doctor school, only to be foiled by basic subtraction on an Internet forum.  Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Sounds like a great find. I don't think you will hurt the value of if by shooting it occasionally at the range. As long as you don't bang it around and put marks on it, you should enjoy it.
On Gunbroker, the nicer ones are running between $800 and $1000 depending on condition and accessories likes the mags and pouch. |

Gun win. Yeah, that was pretty bad. Especially since the gun and I are pretty close to the same age.
