well, my baby arrived today and it only took a few years of hunting for this, and it even came from someone here on the forum.

HP Detective

I'll give a full range report and pictures soon.

just keep looking is all I can say -I was really lucky to see the EE ad for this one on the day it posted.

I'm hoping to get a range trip with it later this week.

well, got a range trip in on Fri. with the Detective slide, and I am certainly in love with this combo.

I currently carry it in the 2 o'clock position in a Galco molded belt slide holster that was designed for the 1911
retention feels solid, but I have yet to give it the running/jumping mall ninja treatment with it.

I put down range a mixture of factory and hand loads ranging from 115 grn FMJ, and LRN to 147 grn JHP and did not have any failures of any kind.

it took me about 15 round to figure out point of impact from point of aim and I feel that it really shoots nice - i'm sure that with a better set of eye on this gun, it would really shine

all told, I think I put about 125-150 rounds through it on this first range session.
I was also using a couple of used mec-gar magazines and they performed flawlessly

the target next to the 9mm AR SBR was shot with the Hi Power at about 20-25 feet and a semi rapid fire double/triple taps

Thanks for the range report and pic, looks awesome, as well as the 9mm AR.
What frame ( year/ model ) is that slide resting on?

it's a Browning Hi Power - made in Belgium, assembled in Portugal
produced in 1989 - in the 76xxx range

debating about picking up one of the Israeli trade-ins to use as the host - but for the time being, it will sit as it is currently set-up
