| A friend and I are headed out to the Como, MS range today. The stars will be my FEG HP and retro 601 AR build. The first trip to the range with the FEG after I bought it, it functioned flawlessly. I still went ahead and replaced the recoil spring, firing pin spring, and extractor spring with new Wolff ones from Midway USA. Knowing it is an early one, and not having any idea of round count (except it is a LE trade in), I want it to be a reliable carry gun. I'll post a pic or two, later. I also want to try the magazines I got from Keepshooting .com. They are unmarked (preban?), and say they are their own brand. I got the factory mag and a military mag (parkerized with three witness holes on the back) when I got the pistol. They functioned 100%. I haven't shot they new ones yet. They are excellent as far as fit and finish, so lets see how they feed. |
| Great time was had at the range. The Keepshooting .com mags worked flawless with FMJ and assorted HPs ( Gold Dot 124 +P , Federal 9BP 115s, Winchester Silver Tip). Zero feed issues. The mags hold 14 rounds instead of 13, and the spring is stiffer (like a Wolff mag spring) than factory mag springs. Overall, it was awesome. For a reliability drill, I did 4 mags+1 (57 rounds mixed ammo) VERY rapid fire at 7 yards and kept them in a baseball size group in the 10X. wonderful feel and ergonomics. I love this pistol! Did a couple hundred rounds and wished I had brought more. |
