For the new 9 7/8" Varmint barrel I recently fell into (for nothing!). I have a standard Buck Mark slabside and it shoots great. I also have a 4.5" threaded barrel for it to run my suppressor.

I now have this Varmint barrel with the full length rail and no iron sights. I have a Buck Mark reflex sight in mind, but would like to find some kind of iron sights to use on it, as well. The problem is, I can't seem to find any suitable, Weaver mountable (at least it appears to be a Weaver rail), iron sights to try on it.

Any other optic suggestions would be welcome, as well.

No one has any ideas or suggestions?

Have you considered a Tactical Solutions rail with integrated rear sight along with stock front sight? Allows use of iron sights and use of optical sight when wanted.

I would, but the 9 7/8" Varmint model has a full length top rail with no front sight or provision for a rear sight. The Silhouette model has sights in the rail, along with the Weaver cuts so it can go either way. I haven't been able to find a Silhouette rail to put on it. If I could, that would be the answer I'm really looking for.

So far, I have put a Buck Mark Reflex sight on it, and it works, well. I would still prefer to find a solution that would allow iron sights or an optic, I hate being limited to optics only, as they have a tendancy to fail on you when needed most.

Yes, it could be said that I am a "belt and suspenders" kind of guy.

Thanks for the suggestion!
