Well, I got to take my new pistol out today. Fired 50 rounds of Winchester "Winclean" white box ammo. Zero failures, and hits POA every time. At first, I was a little nervours about the recoil... so I wasnt holding for accuracy. I started out at 15yds, shooting a 2'x3' paper target. All rounds came in on target, but all over the place. At first, the perceived recoil is punishing. The muzzle flip is high, and the trigger guard hits your trigger finger during this flip, which starts to hurt a little after 20 rounds or so. However, I moved up to 7 yds, and practiced drawing and firing.... 3 rounds at a time, quickly. All rounds hit a 8.5"x11" paper, most centered.... and I did not even notice the recoil. It seems that during a real life situation, as long as you can get a decent grip, the recoil is not that bad at all.... and this was my only concern with this caliber in this frame size. The brass gets really deformed at the case neck... and there are fairly deep scars on the brass where the extractor gouges into the case and lip. I must say I am really happy with this thing.... it is perfect for what it was designed to be.... a close quarters point-shooter. Very happy indeed. Just need to blow about 200 more rounds and then I am set. I plan on using the Winchester ammo for carry. If it cycles 100%, I really dont want really hot HP's anyway.... with the limited penetration of the .380 in general. |
| I will second that. My girlfriend and I tried her's out for the first time today. The sites take a little getting used to. Without much practice, it was making about 5 inch groups at 50 feet. We only put 100 rounds through it, but it worked perfectly. That was with Winchester 95 grain target ammo (Q4206). Actually, the owners manual says you can use +P ammo, but not all of the time. I wonder what +P .380 ammo would feel like. |
| I highly recommend getting some magazine finger extensions for your 3AT. The best and cheapest extensions are for Bersa Thunders. You can get them off of Bersa's website for something ridiculous like 2 dollars each. There is no modifications necessary and you gain a ton of control of the pistol. |

i shot my new one yesterday for the first time. Mine needed some rather extensive fluff and buff prior to the range. LOTS of sharp edges and ridges on the frame and i had to do some light polishing on the ramp and chamber. The first thing i noticed was this thing is LOUD! using UMC ammo i alomost thought i was shooting my M44 from the fireball. In 100 rnds i had ZERO isuues. Once i adjusted to the gun i was a ble to hold a slow fire head shot at 20 yrds about 8in. MUCH better than i expected. I attached the pocket clip. The oversized pin that comes with it removed a nice chunk of skin on the thumb knuckle after the first round. I compare the recoil to that of a snubie 38 with +p ammo and bad grips. For what the gun is designed for it performs VERY well although some attention on the frame such as removing the flashing from the trigger would have been nice. I think the gun is a fair value but may be slightly over priced for what it is. The workmanship is not in line with other guns in it's class although it is FAR smaller and lighter than all the rest. mike ps.... my hand still hurts from yesterday |
