I just got back from the range with my new PLR-22. I brought a box of Remington golden bullet .22 LR. The Remingtons did not feed at all. The ones that I ejected were bent where the bullet seats in the case, like a bannana. A friend of mine let me shoot some Federal bulk pack and it functioned flawlessly. Looks like the Reminginton cannot handle getting fed into the chamber.

Any semi-auto .22 can be picky in what ammo they can run. Some need a break-in period to run certain ammo. If the Federal is working than use it. Its a nice cheap 550rd pack. Pick up a few boxs and you'll have lots of fun plinking ammo at the ready.

Not so in this case. I have had minor issues with different brands of ammo with various firearms, most notably the Walther P22. Most feeding issues correct themselves with a break in period, this is an entirely different issue. I compared the two different manufacturers and the Federal is essentially the same with one notable difference. The Federal projectile is securely seated in the case. The Remington can be moved and even rotated by hand. The feed ramp on the PLR is fairly steep and seems to be exploiting the Remington’s apparent weakness, the loose projectile.

The blue box 50rnd Federal 510's are great and only a few dollars more for the brick.  A little cleaner and more accurate.  Persoally I think they are the way to go.
