bought my wife a p32 at the gun show yesterday and i have to admit i am a bit let down...

(1) magazine will not seat fully with 7 rounds in it, slide forward or back.
(2) slide doesn't always stay open after the last shot.
(3) two fte, with cheapo walmart ammo.

i know it's a cheap gun but it's a brand new gun and i've heard so many good things about them. are these things that will go away in time or did unluckily i get a bad one.

on the flip side a bought a p22 yesterday expecting the worse and it surprisingly ran all day with out a problem.

Kel-Tec has great customer service, call them and they will treat you right. I have a couple of  p32s and have not had any problems with mine except for the time I took one completely apart and couldn't seem to get it back together .Have you tried a different mag?

If those are the only problems you have, then you have a good one.z

they don't make their mags, they are out sourced. It could just be the mag, don't feel too upset just yet. I know a lot of people who own them, and kel tec is known for stellar customer service

Do you have a spare magazine?
If you don't try picking up a new one, or try your mag in another P32. And the mags are made by mecgear.
Is the gun the first gen or the second gen? (The easy way to tell is by the extractor, second gen is flat with a screw)
I bought a first gen P32 and I had a few problems, all were solved by tweaking the extractor, first it would not feed sometimes, that was solved by pulling the extractor out and rounding some sharp corners on the lower half, I pretty much just copied my 1911 extractor. After I fixed the FTF I had some failure to eject, and that was solved by taking out the extractor and forcing a screw driver into the little spring causing it to extend a little. The little gun runs 100% now.

First, forget about the cheapo ChinaMart ammo.  The WWB they sell is probably the stuff with the short OAL, and you could be getting some rimlock, which might explain some of the mag loading/slide problems.  It could be a bad mag, as mentioned by others.

The slide lock issue could well be a mag issue as well.  First try some different ammo before you start shipping your pistol all around the country.  Pocket pistols can be a bit finicky until you find out what combo of lube and ammo works well, and they have broken in.

LOVE my little P-32  ! !

Like the other guys have said - - try a different mag and better ammo.  FTF may be an ammo problem. And the slide not locking back could be low-powered ammo too.

I always have at least THREE mags for any pistol I own, even the little pocket models.

My little P-32 has been thru at least 500 trouble free rounds.

the 32acp is known to have feed issues with certain brands of ammo. try some wwb hard ball and see if it feeds.

is there any play in the loaded mag if you depress on the top round with a full mag? the rounds should depress a bit over 1/4" to allow the mag to seat. if not disassemble the mag and check for debris blocking the follower or the spring improperly installed.

mec-gar makes the mags and they are generally well made. also give keltec a call. they WILL get it right.

well... mine locks back 3 of 5 times after the last shot

i put another couple hundred rounds through it on sat. with only one ftf.

it will be my wife's to carry so i'm hoping after another couples days at the range the ftf will cease,

Sorry Mike,

but the P-32 DOES have a slide lock -- for the last round fired.

However there is not a slide lock on the P3AT . . . . .

well upon further inspection it seems the mag is responsible for not engaging the slide lock.

where can i get a quality mag or are they hit or miss also.

the ONLY sourse for these mags is keltec or mec-gar.

I recently bought another 7 round magazine for my P-32.  I had the same problem with the slide not locking back.  I took the magazine apart and lightly sanded the notch in the follower that causes the slide to lock back with some 1500 grit wet/dry sandpaper.  Problem solved.
